The newly appointed chairman of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu at a stakeholders meeting with party elders from Ebonyi state yesterday jokingly addressed the sleeping nature of the Secretary to the Federal Government, Anyim Pius Anyim.
While addressing the party elders which comprised of the Ebonyi state Governor, Martin Elechi, Health Minister Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu and other eminent Ebonyi PDP elders, Alhaji Muazu took a look at Anyim Pius Anyim who had dozed off and said;

How NSCDC arrested teenager for molesting four children in Ebonyi

THIS is an incident that shouldn’t have happened, a tale that mustn’t be told, and a situation that a moral mind cannot fathom, yet, it was allegedly perpetuated by one Chibuike Maduka, 17, at Ndibe in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
crexThis revelation was made possible through the arrest of the suspect by men of the State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, on Monday  February 10, 2014. The suspect was alleged to have molested four children and his biological mother, Mrs. Idam Augustina Josephine.
The NSCDC in Ebonyi State on Tuesday, paraded the serial rapist and homosexual who allegedly derives fun in molesting young children of different parents in his community.
The suspect who blamed his strange sexual escapades on his mother, confessed to have had sexual intercourse with her (mother) on several occasions. He claimed that  he doesn’t know what usually induces him to made love with children in the area.
Parading the suspect at the Command’s headquarters in Abakaliki, the State Commandant of NSCDC, Mrs. Ego Echendu stated that the suspect was rounded off after a tip- off by an informant in the area. She explained  that the suspect had in confessional statement disclosed that he had sexual intercourse with his own mother on several occasions.
”We got a tip off from our informant and sent some of our men to follow up the information concerning an adolescent male who has been
in the business of molesting children in their tender age.
That kind of act baffled me and so we continued to monitor the suspect and fortunately at about 3pm yesterday, our divisional office at Afikpo North Local Government Area were able to round off the suspect and the victims, and their parents; and also the suspect’s parent who we reliably gathered was  also a key player in the son’s sexual escapades.
”The suspect confessed to have been having sexual intercourse with his biological mother and we asked to know when it started and he said in 2013. He also claimed that the mother usually encourages him to sleep with children of such tender age. ”Because this case involves women and children of these age bracket, we want to transfer this case to the Ministry of Women Affairs in the State for them to take it from there.
He sleeps with his own biological mother who is in our custody right now; and again he also told us that he is a homosexual.
He sleeps with other male friends. From my own personal analysis, I think he has some  brain disorder”. Vanguard Metro, VM gathered that the suspect who hailed from Amangu village in Nkpohoro Community in Afikpo North LGA began molesting young children since 2008. He is a Senior Secondary School, SSS, 1 student with Oziza Secondary School in Afikpo North Local Government Area of the State.
According to the suspect, “I’m here because of my mother; she used me for ritual. I don’t know what I’m doing. If I see a little child I will rape her; this act started in 2008; it is not my fault but that of my mother. I have molested my mother and four children.
My father is late. I don’t know myself again. I had homosexual activities with one Emmanuel three times at Amangu in Afikpo North local government area“ Reacting, the mother of the suspect, Mrs. Idam Augustina Josephine, 45, denied having any sexual involvement with his son insisting that he doesn’t know what was happening to his son.
”I am 45 years and the mother of Chibuike Maduka; how can I teach my child to rape little children? I’m here because my son molested some children; he is telling a lie, he never had any sexual relationship with me”.
One of the mothers of the victim (names withheld) who regretted the development said medical examination had been carried out on her daughter after she discovered some strange reactions from the victim’s private parts.
According her, the daughter had contacted sexually transmitted disease from the suspect. She said: “I am not happy with this act exhibited by this boy; I usually drop my child at school and then go to work; I really don’t know how it all happened.”

Mob hacks suspected thieves, sets car ablaze

Three suspected criminals, who allegedly specialised in snatching bags from women in Calabar, Cross River State, were on Tuesday hacked with machetes almost to the point of death by residents of the area.

The suspected criminals were trailed by eyewitnesses after they had allegedly succeeded in snatching the bag of an unidentified woman who had just come out from a bank in the area.

The Volkswagen Vento salon car which was allegedly used for the operation was also set ablaze by the angry mob.

An eyewitness and a newspaper vendor, identified simply as Asuquo, said the thieves snatched the bag containing an unspecified sum of money from the woman who stepped out of First Bank premises along Calabar Road and sped off.

He explained that unknown to the suspects, another unidentified lady had driven behind them in company with others after she spotted what had happened. They intercepted the Volkswagen car at Goldie/Atu junction where an angry mob later took over.

Asuquo said, “They snatched a bag from the woman on Calabar Road and drove through Target down to Goldie here, where they  were accosted by the mob. A lady who saw them when the thieves snatched the bag raised the alarm as she was driving and those people joined her in the chase.

“When the men got to Goldie by Atu roundabout, they attempted to make a U-turn, but about three cars blocked them from all sides.”

Asuquo explained further that when the suspected thieves saw that they had been trapped, they wound up the side glasses of the vehicle and remained inside.

“It was at that point that the lady in the first car came out of her car and raised the alarm, which attracted more people. Instantly, the thieves’ car glasses were broken and they were dragged out of the car. From nowhere, people brought out machetes.”

He said the suspected thieves were inflicted with cuts before the arrival of policemen from the Atakpa Police Division, who rescued and took the suspects to the station.

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Hogan Bassey, said, “The boys are with us and are being given medical attention. They will appear in court after investigations are completed.”

Meanwhile, two robbers operating in a commercial tricycle around the Anantigha area of Calabar were killed on Monday, while their tricycle was set ablaze. Another suspected criminal was almost lynched along Uwanse Street, but was rescued by the police who whisked him away.

A resident of Uwanse, Mr. Akpan Udo-Ekpo, told PUNCH Metro that  residents of Calabar metropolis decided to confront criminals as the police appeared powerless to combat crime in the area.

Udo-Ekpo said before now, they used to apprehend criminals and hand them over to the police, only for them to be released later.

Another resident of Uwanse, Mr. Moses Etim, said the residents decided to form vigilance groups to tackle the increasing crime rate in the city.

He said the level of insecurity in the area was frightening, adding, “that is why we decided to protect ourselves from these criminals.
: Woman whose face was filled with 'cement' by fake plastic surgeon gets help

Rajee Narinesingh, 46, was born a man. He decided he wanted a different life and identity and turned himself to a woman. He didn't like what he looked like as a woman and decided to have plastic surgery done. She didn't have enough money to go to 'dem Beverly Hills 90210 doctors and decided to do what she could afford. The black market plastic surgeon she paid to do the surgery injected 'cement' like filler into her cheeks, lips, breasts and buttocks leaving her face looking deformed. Lol. God forgive me for laughing but it's too funny.

The fake doctor who carried out the operation, Oneal Ron Morris, 32, was jailed for a year in January 2014, nine years after she carried out the surgery, after admitting one count of practicing healthcare without a licence.

Thankfully for Rajee, after her predicament was made public, a doctor offered to fix her face. Continue..

Fake surgeon, Oneal Ron Morris, who is also transgender, seen above at her trial.

Rajee says she's ready to date again after the botched surgery was fixed.

"For years I was too ashamed and embarrassed to face dating. Now I'm feeling more confident and with a good bit of makeup I can achieve somewhat of an exotic look. Recently this guy said that being with me is like being with a sexy dragon. I didn't know whether to slap him or kiss him." She said

Rajee is given monthly softening injections and laser therapy by doctors at Cosmetic Reconstructive Surgery in Miami and this has helped reduce the size of the bulge on her face.

Rajee explained why she did the surgery back in 2005.

"The last thing I wanted was to look like a man in a dress. I wanted to be a beautiful woman. If you really want to live your authentic self as a woman you need to do some sort of face and body reconstruction. So I made the choice to get injections done. In our community it is called 'pumping'."

"When it finally came to the day, I was more excited than nervous because I was finally going to be the woman I had always wanted to be. There was a room that she had set up where she did a lot of medical procedures. It appeared to be pretty sterile. It was like an extra bedroom that she had turned into a clinical area and I would go in and pay the money.

"I got injections in my face and my hips and my buttocks and initially I was fine. But then the nightmare started. It first felt like a huge boil on the side of my face and then it kept getting bigger and bigger as the day went along.

"It got really painful and then suddenly green pus exploded out of my face and onto the mirror. It was green and yellow and mixed with blood. It was terrible. Sometimes I wake up in bed in the middle of the night and I ask myself: 'What have you done?'

"My message to anyone that would consider doing what I did is don't do it. Do not do it. You could die or you could end up like me: disfigured."

Rajee, spent years in solitude suffering from post-traumatic stress, depression and agoraphobia until two years ago when her predicament was made public and a plastic surgeon offered to help her for free.

The Promise Jonathan Made Over 2nd Term bid- Obasanjo

Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has joined many Nigerians who have insisted ahead of the 2015 general elections in the country that President Goodluck Jonathan actually entered into an agreement with those in the country's political block, essentially, the Northern political circle. Chief Obasanjo, while answering questions from media personalities, said  President Goodluck Jonathan actually did make a promise to Nigerians to serve only a term in office, NaijaSharpNews Correspondents have reported.

“President Jonathan said, not only once, twice, publicly, not only inside Nigeria, outside Nigeria, that he would have one term, and said that to me,” a report Wednesday by Bloomberg quoted Obasanjo as saying in an interview in London.

Jonathan  has been in power since his predecessor, President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua died in office in 2010. When he won in 2011, he broke an unwritten convention within the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to rotate power between the South and the North. Jonathan, 56, has not yet said whether he would   stand for re-election in a vote scheduled for 2015.

NaijaSharpNews correspondents quote Obasanjo as saying
“One of the things that is very important in the life of any man or any person, is that he will be a man or a person of his word,”. “If you decide your word should not be taken seriously that’s entirely up to you.”
Presidential spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati,   couldn’t be reached on his mobile phone for comment as it was switched off.
Obasanjo, who backed Jonathan’s presidential campaign four years ago, declined to say whether Jonathan should or should not stand for re-election.

17yr old footballer (who looks a lot older) quits social media after abuse

This Lazio player pictured above says he's 17 years old and no one believes him. Joseph Minala from Cameroon was forced to shut down his instagram and Facebook accounts following abuse over his age. People think he is a guy in his 30s claiming to be 17.

The midfielder tried to convince his followers that he didn't lie about his age by sharing a pic of his passport which showed his birth date on his instagram page but that didn't convince anyone. The abuse continued and he was forced to shut down his instagram page. He also filtered out Twitter pictures of himself and deleted his Facebook profile.
"Envy is the weakness of man, and those with a poor soul hurt others when you are in Serie A. Love you! Forza Lazio." Joseph tweeted after deleting his Facebook page.
Minala joined the Italian giants in December 2013.

Asup Strike Will Soon End- Minister Of Education

Speaking in Kaduna on Thursday, Minister of State for Education Nyesom Wike, said that the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics would soon call off the strike.
The Coordinating Minister for Education, represented by the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education, Dr. Masa'udu Kazaure, met with the heads of parastatals under his ministry in Kaduna.
The Minister disclosed that the Federal Government is ready to meet all the conditions of the lecturers, including paying all the arrears.
Last week, the Ministry officials met with the ASUP leaders to finalise the payment of N20.4 bn lecturers' salary arrears under the Consolidated Tertiary Education Institutions Salary Structure.
"I think the ministry is doing something about the strike by the polytechnic lecturers. The ministry has already calculated the arrears of the of the polytechnic lecturers which is one of the serious issues and it is N20.4bn,"Dr. Kazaure said on behalf of Minister Wike.
"There was a discussion last week between the minister and the union and agreement was reached. The minister has raised a memo and now waiting for approval to get these arrears to be paid to the lecturers. I believe that as soon as this money is paid, they would call off the strike.
"If you look at other issues raised by the polytechnic teachers, some of them are at the various stages of completion. Take the example of NEEDS assessment, constitution of governing council, and the government has started implementing all these. So, as soon as we have met the conditions, the next thing is to sit down and clear the problems. The funds would be made available as soon as we get the approval."
The Minister also addressed the issue of disparity between university degree holders and Higher National Diploma holders.
"The issue of what is regarded as disparity between degree and HND holders was also addressed during the meeting with the union. The government has no intention to belittle polytechnic education. At the time discussion was going on with ASUU, the same discussion took place with ASUP. So, I think there is no iota of truth in the impression that government is belittling polytechnic education."

Religion or Politics? Again Boko Haram strikes,Kills 39,burns Mosque,1000 houses

KONDUGA, Nigeria - Hundreds of Islamic extremists posing as soldiers attacked a northeast Nigerian town for hours, killing 39 people and razing a mosque and more than 1,000 homes, survivors said Wednesday.

In the ruins of the burned-out mosque, bodies covered in cloth lay ready for burial Wednesday, including three small shrouds covering children who did not look more than 10 years old.

"Why us? Why us?" one woman wailed, trying to understand why militants set on creating an Islamic state in Nigeria would attack a town of mainly Muslim farmers.

Numerous villages in the area have been attacked and hundreds have been killed in recent months despite a 9-month-long military state of emergency to halt the uprising in three northeastern states covering one-sixth of Africa's biggest oil producer and most populous nation divided almost equally between Muslims and Christians. Thousands have been made homeless and thousands more have fled to other parts of Nigeria and to neighbouring states.

Farmers described Tuesday night's attack to visiting Borno state Gov. Kashim Shettima. They told the governor that about 400 attackers in military camouflage drove in from all directions in apparently stolen army trucks led by an armoured personnel carrier. They called people to them, then opened fire, the survivors said.

The few soldiers and police stationed in the town fled, outnumbered and outgunned, they said.

The extremists arrived at 6 p.m. and went from house to house, using homemade bombs to set them ablaze, and Shettima said about 70 per cent of the town was destroyed.

The attackers only fled around 10 p.m. when a military aircraft strafed them into flight, survivors said.

Angry residents asked the governor why it took hours for the military to respond.

The attack occurred at Konduga, an agrarian centre of about 10,000 farmers that is just 35 kilometres (22 miles) and 30 minutes' drive from the Borno state capital of Maiduguri. The city is the headquarters for the military offensive and includes an air force base with bombers.

Shettima told reporters who accompanied him on the trip that the extremists, called Boko Haram, "are better armed and better motivated" than the Nigerian military. He said the soldiers were doing their best but were not as well-equipped.

Shettima told residents he would remain with them until promised food, clothing and other emergency supplies arrived later Wednesday. AP

But is this normal or a medical condition? #JustWondering

photo - Jonathan Sacks Oduah, Three Other Ministers
The relieved Ministers are Stella Oduah (Aviation), Caleb Olubolade (Police Affairs), Godsday Orubebe (Niger Delta Police Affairs), and Yerima Ngama (State, Finance).
Some sources within Jonathan’s cabinet indicate that the said lawmakers were "dropped, they did not resign," while others say their sack was passed off as voluntary resignation.
The reasons behind Olubolade, Orubebe and Ngama's exit are also yet to be specified.
However, Stella Oduah's case is related to corruption-related offences. It will be recalled that both the House of Representatives and a presidential committee indicted her for approving purchase of two bullet-proof cars for N255m. Investigations have also revealed that Oduah has forged her academic qualifications. This has caused public outrage in the country, with many Nigerians calling for her removal and prosecution.

Sometimes I wonder if there is no way the federal government can actually touch the lives of the masses of this country, giving the fact that the Presidency manages over 50% of the nations total wealth.

Anyway, President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday inaugurated another programme, this time it is the  Nigeria Industrial Revolution Plan and the National Enterprise Development Programme. He claimed the policies so far put in place by his administration are indications he would leave the country better and stronger.
“This year, we have launched the Mortgage Refinancing Company, that is another area that will revolutionarise the housing sector, where people will be able to build their own affordable houses instead of paying rent.
“We have also launched the dry season farming scheme and have revolutionised agriculture with our new initiatives that all the players in agriculture including the World Bank are commending the Nigerian programmes and today, we are launching this twin programme – Nigeria Industrial Revolution Plan and the National Enterprise Development Programme."
He said all these were borne out of his desire to build legacies that would outlive his administration.

Jonathan said, “With diligent implementation of these revolutionary programmes that we are launching today, we can tell Nigerians that our country is set for development.”

Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Olusegun Aganga, had earlier in his opening remarks, explained that NEDEP was designed to address the neglect that SMEs had suffered in the past.

He said with the administration’s feat in the cement industry which led to the exportation of the commodity, his ministry was ready to replicate same in 15 other sectors.

But if we may ask, how come Cement in Nigeria is one of the most expensive in Africa? What has happened to previous programmes such as NEEDS?
