Bus conductor jumps into Ocean after stealing N40,000

A 26-year-old bus conductor, Nurudeen Suleiman, who allegedly jumped into the Atlantic Ocean after stealing N40, 000, was on Tuesday charged before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.

The accused, whose address is unknown, is facing a charge of stealing before Magistrate Salama Matepo.

The prosecutor, SP Austin Orji, said the accused committed the offence on March 30 at about 4.30 p.m. at the Bar Beach on Victoria Island, Lagos.

He alleged that the accused had approached the complainant, one Mr Segun for some financial assistance.

“The man had brought out some naira notes to give Suleiman and in the process, some fell off.

“The accused on the pretext of helping to pick the money kept N40, 000 and handed over the rest to the complainant.

“The complainant suspected a foul play and before he knew it, Suleiman had jumped into the Atlantic Ocean to avoid being caught.

“He stayed in the ocean for about 30 minutes to allow the divers that had attempted to arrest him leave,’’ Orji said.

He said the accused was later apprehended by some security men when he came out.

The offence, Orji noted, contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Suleiman, however, pleaded not guilty.

In his ruling, the magistrate granted the accused bail in the sum of N20, 000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to April 23.

This is Indian builder Pakkirappa Hunagundi and he is addicted to eating bricks! The 30-year-old became hooked on devouring non-edible objects after first developing the acquired taste when he was 10-years-old.

For 20 years he has consumed up to three kilos of debris a day, including mud and gravel, he finds lying around his village in Karnataka. But despite his strange eating disorder - thought to be caused by a condition called Pica - Pakkirappa insists he hasn't suffered any ill-effects. And he wants to use his strange eating
habits to make some money for his family by travelling across India showcasing his talents.

MirrorUK reports that the oddball eater causally chews on freshly baked bricks he finds scattered around his village. And he uses nothing more than a glass of water to help digest the building material which he says tastes  "A1" - an Indian term meaning the best.
Fussy eater Pakkirappa said:

"I love eating them. It has become a part of my life. I started at the age of 10. Now it feels like a necessity to me. I can skip meals, but not bricks or mud. I have suffered no side effects. My teeth are absolutely fine. I can bite into the hardest stone without a problem."

4 Men Gang-Rape, Collect Woman’s Private Part In Enugu For N600,000 [PICTURED]

A 35-year-old woman, Miss Ngozi Eze was molested by four men, killed and her body parts severed for rituals at Enugu-Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State. As at the time of filling this report, the Umuagama Community Neighborhood Watch in Enugu Ezike has apprehended the four suspected ritualists in connection with the incident. The Chairman of the Neighborhood Watch, Mr. Onyema Ossai while speaking on the development in Umuagama, explained that they swung into action after one of the suspects, Ndukwe Omeke owned up and confessed their involvement in Ngozi's death, after the four of them ambushed and molested her before mutilating her body. Explaining further on how the four suspects were apprehended after discovering the decomposed corpse of Ngozi, he said: "Ndukwe Omeke, the leader of the gang during his confession named Chinedu Ugwuanyi, (palm wine tapper), Eugene Ukwueze and Ibekwe Eya, (Okada rider), and identified Kenneth Idoko, a butcher as the their anchor man, who offered them the job of delivering to him female private parts for N600, 000″. Ossai also added that, "What we found out from the suspects after interrogation was that they have a list of high profile indigenes and politicians who is backing them up in this ritual killings". Another source equally told DailyPost that the suspects further confessed that Idoko gave them a white handkerchief to put the private parts and bring to him before collecting the sum of N600, 000. Investigations further revealed that days after delivering Ngozi's body parts to Idoko, the four suspects were yet to be paid before they were rounded up by the vigilante.  It was gathered when the gang went to Idoko for the payment he said the money was not readily available but promised to make the payment as soon as his principal makes it available. It was, however, disclosed that Idoko gave them N500 for the fueling of their motorcycles. Condemning the barbaric act of the four suspects, the Parish Priest of  St. Mary's Catholic Church Umuagama, Enugu Ezike, Rev. Fr. Mellitus Idogwu said he was happy that all the culprits have been arrested and handed over to the police. He pleaded with the police to unravel the so-called powerful people behind the ritual killing and prosecute them, "as no sinner should go unpunished". "I commend the neighborhood watch for their effort in apprehending all the suspects involved in this heinous act", he added. The Clergyman said he was planning a rosary procession in the  community, which will terminate at the Local Government Council headquarters for the purpose of cleansing.

Rev Okono Joseph of St Peter’s Parish of Owerri Catholic Diocese in Imo State, was arrested with 20 others for buying two boys (three and four years) at N900,000.The children he sold ranged from N450,000 to N750,000 depending on the sex of the child. A male child attracted higher prices.The Rev said he was involved in only two deals which fetched him only N46,000 interest

Duke said the leader of the syndicate, Onyekedru, could not remember the number of children he has sold.He usually operates in conjunction with agents, who liaise with government officials in children homes and maternity hospitals. Over 20 children were rescued.



Duke said most of the children stolen were sold through Uchenna, who had in his earlier statement, allegedly admitted to losing count of the number of children he had facilitated their theft and sales, however said he was ashamed of the business since it has brought him disgrace and shame. He said he was lured into the business by women who had no children of their own.

Two other suspects,Mercy and boyfriend Collins said they started the baby sales business in November last year, and since then they have kidnapped and sold more than ten babies. Mercy however said she was only involved in five which she was paid N100,000 each.

Three parents of two children recovered were full of joy.
