The real Abubakar Shekau is dead - SSS Spokesperson

At a briefing this evening with newsmen in Abuja following the release of a new video by Boko Haram showing kidnapped Chibok girls, spokesperson of the State Security Service (SSS), Ms Marilyn Ogar said the man in the video claiming to be Abubakar Shekau is not really Abubakar Shekau, that the real Shekau who is believed to have founded the dreaded sect, is dead
"Boko Haram has become a franchise, anybody can assume and lay claim to any name. What I know is that the original Abubakar Shekau is dead; the person claiming to be the national leader now is not the original Abubakar Shekau. If security sources tell you that somebody is dead, you don't have to come out and doubt that" she said.

Confusion: Nigerian Officials Contradict Selves Over Negotiation With Boko Haram

It is difficult to determine what direction the government would head as officials
make a series of contradictory statements to the media regarding the conditions
spelt out by Boko Haram for releasing the girls
...............

Premium Times
Confusion now reign supreme in Nigeria as senior government officials give contradictory views they claim reflect the government’s commitment (or not) regarding the administration’s willingness (or otherwise) to negotiations with the extremist Boko Haram sect for the release of the over 250 Chibok girls, raising concerns yet again about the government’s strategy for resolving the crisis, and the coherence of its plans in that regard.

In the last two days, the senate president, two ministers, and another senior official, have disagreed openly on the government’s line of action- whether to accept a proposal for talks with Boko Haram, or to stick to the use of force.

The senate president, David Mark, said Tuesday the government will never negotiate with Boko Haram, as doing so would embolden other terrorist groups.

His comments aligned with those of the interior minister, Abba Moro, who had vowed Monday that the government would not accept Boko Haram’s proposal to swap the kidnapped girls with the sect’s suspected members detained by the Nigerian authorities.

But the special duties minister, Taminu Turaki, and the director general of the National Orientation Agency, Mike Omeri, hinted at the government’s willingness for talks with the group that has killed thousands of Nigerians in its five-year old insurgency.

Mr. Turaki told the BBC Tuesday that the government was set for dialogue while Mr. Omeri said all options remained on the table as the government, backed by an international specialist team, attempts to locate and rescue the girls.

The girls were kidnapped on the night of April 14 from their dormitory as they prepared for their final examinations. The United States is leading an international effort to help Nigeria rescue the girls.

The U.S. said Monday it has started flying manned surveillance mission in the northeast to gather intelligence about the location of the girls.

The Nigerian military has not offered any insight whether it would welcome the proposed talks with Boko Haram or not. Defence spokesperson, Chris Olukolade, did not respond to PREMIUM TIMES’ enquiries Tuesday.

A prophetess with a Celestial Church of Christ in Epe, Lagos State, western Nigeria, has been arrested by the police in Epe Division, Lagos for allegedly setting her 9–year old daughter on fire in a bid to deliver her from witchcraft.
The girl was rescued by the police and was taken to Epe General Hospital where she is receiving treatment at the emergency ward of the hospital for first degree burns.
It was alleged that the 37-year old prophetess, Bose Oluwole, committed the offence at Ijebu-Ode Road, Odomola, Epe, Lagos.
The suspect was arrested following a distress call by the residents of the area alleging that the suspect poured kerosene on her daughter, Damilola and set her ablaze.During interrogation, according to the police, the suspect allegedly confessed to the crime.
She said she set her daughter abalze in obedience to God’s instruction to cleanse her of demonic spirits.
In her alleged confessional statement to the police, the suspect said: “I saw in my vision while praying that my daughter is from the witchcraft world. When I prayed to God over it, I received the instruction through Holy Spirit to burn my daughter’s body in order to deliver her from the evil society.
After investigation, the suspect was charged before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos on a two-count charge of felony to wit, and attempt to commit murder..
The offences, the police prosecutor, Inspector Emmanuel Nwankpoma said, are punishable under Sections 171 and 228 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the crime, but the presiding magistrate, Mrs. C. J. Momodu directed that the matter be transferred to Family Court 2 because of the age of the victim.
The magistrate in charge of the Family Court, Mrs. O. O. Oshin, ordered that the accused be remanded in Kirikiri Prisons, Lagos till 2 June, 2014 for mention.

JAMB: 250 Prisoners in Kaduna, Ikoyi Prisons sit for CBT Examination

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Wednesday said that 250 prisoners in Kaduna and Ikoyi Prisons in Lagos would sit for the test and over 616,000 candidates would sit for the 2014 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Computer-Based Test (CBT).
A statement in Lagos by the board’s spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, said that arrangements had been concluded for the smooth conduct of the examination, scheduled for May 17 to May 31.
According to the statement, the CBT is to hold in over 163 centres in Nigeria and abroad.
It urged candidates to prepare for the examination, noting that the CBT was the best platform for candidates to articulate their educational pursuits.
The statement said that the CBT mode would reduce result black-out or incomplete results, examination malpractices and also enhance prompt release of scores.
It advised candidates to reprint their e-slips in the event they missed or misplaced their schedules.
The statement said that the board would commence full-blown CBT in 2015 UTME, adding that the exercise would help to sanitise the education sector.
The CBT, which was introduced in 2012, had its maiden edition in 2013.

'How I got into the oil business' - Billionaire, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija

One of the world's richest black women, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija has opened up on how she got into the oil business that has made her a billionaire. Speaking during the Women Inspiration & Enterprise WIE event that held two weeks ago, the chairman of Famfa Oil & Gas, said she got into the business through perseverance and hard work

Quote
"It was not a planned thing at all. A friend actually contacted me that some people wanted to buy crude oil and she was wondering if I will be able to get them to make the purchase. I got an appointment with the Minister of Petroleum and he told me that it's not the way to go because there wasn't much profit in selling it and because it's a foreign company that Nigeria is imposed at selling its crude to international market. That it will be better to look at other things. I went back to my friend and told her what the Minister said. Then it seemed as if that door was shut but something else came up. I chose not to walk away so I went back to offer another service which was catering services. And yet again I was shut down. I did not give up, I just knew that something had to come out of it. I spoke again to some friends in the oil industry and I was told to ask to be able to supply transportation services for those who are purchasing crude within the country but I was shut down again by the minister.

Then the last time I went to see the Minister, he told me that the government wants Nigerians to be involved in Nigeria's exploration and production. That it has been the multinationals that have been taking advantage of the oil business in Nigeria. So I was like OK...probably this is not the likes of me. I felt like there was no point coming back but honestly, I'm not the type to take no for an answer. So I began to ask questions, I began to knock on doors, I began to seek information and in the long run, I applied for an oil bloc. But all through that time, the ministers have been changed 3 times so each time they are changed, it takes me back to the bottom of the ladder and I will have to start all over again but I still did not give up. The whole thing started in January 1991 till the end of 1993. I kept going, kept going, kept praying, in-between I became a born-again Christian. That was when I knew the lord. When I was 40, I decided to enter a covenant with the lord that if he blesses me, that I will serve him for the rest of my life and then I got the oil license. It eventually came after 3years but I did not get the one I wanted." she said

On her husband's role in all her business pursuit, she said

"My husband was solidly behind me. There were many times that I will go back home crying and he would tell me to stop crying and he would tell me to stop crying that after all, we are not starving, we are very comfortable. I had his support financially, morally because I had a settled home. I had a balanced relationship with my Husband and my children. All that helped me to dare to make a difference" she said

She Was Molested By Her Boss

HEAR HER STORY
''I graduated from school four years ago and with the hardship in the Country I couldn't secure a job. So you can imagine my Joy when I was offered a job in a Human Resource Company. The salary is nothing to write about (N30,000) but the boredom was growing stronger everyday I accepted it.

The first time I saw him (my boss ) he looked responsible may be because he's running for a senatorial position, that thought stopped when he started making serious sexual advances, sending Randy text messages to me at work of how he wants to made love with me.  He even suggested he wanted a quickie in his Office.  I turned down all his advances and I guess it made him desperate because he started offering me huge sums to get into my pants.  I debunked all his requests.

On a Monday morning, I was already carrying out my duties when my colleague came to me with some documents that needs to be treated by my so called Boss immediately.
I was told to bring the files to him in Cherry Plaza, Maryland. On arriving at the plaza my boss told me to meet him at A hotel and I should hurry up because he's already late for a meeting.

Immediately I entered the room,  he pushed me so hard on the bed and I struggled with everything inside of me,  I begged him, I cried,  I even tore his clothes,  kicked his balls but no he was bent on taking me.  I GOT molested!!!
When he had his fill,  he came of me and said I should come along with him to a car shop to pick any car of my choice, I picked my shoes and ran out.

What should I do?  Do I report him to the Police because I still have evidence of his text messages or should I count it as my loss and continue working for him or better still accept the car and leave the office? Please advise me I'm in pains and I still don't know if I've been infected with any disease.
Help! Help! Help''

It is not clear exactly how many are still trapped in the mine in the town of Soma, in Manisa province, about 250km (150 miles) south of Istanbul.

Large crowds of worried family members have gathered near the privately-owned mine, many in tears.

Energy Ministry Taner Yildiz told Turkish TV that carbon monoxide poisoning could have claimed lives.

Civilians Kill 200 Boko Haram Terrorists In Borno attack yesterday

Article written by Dr. Peregrino Brimah for ENDS.ng
The rise of the civilians against terror took the Boko Haram saga to a new turn in the early hours of Tuesday morning when citizens of Rann, headquarters of Kala-Balge local government area, Borno northeast, who had fore-knowledge of an impending Boko Haram attack, decided not to remain sitting ducks but prepared for battle.
According to reports we received from Civilian sources in Borno, over 400 Boko Haram terrorists stormed Rann and neighboring villages in the early hours of Tuesday, with their usual convoy of hilux trucks, motorcycles and APC (Armored Personnel Carriers) only to meet villagers ready for them this time. The civilian villagers pounced on the terrorists with mere rocks, bows and arrows, local Dane guns, swords and “charms,” but as we have earlier reported, Boko Haram are more frightened of Civilian-JTF than they are of the Nigerian army, and run from the civilians even if they - the civilians only have knives

The battle raged till the sun came up and ended with the civilians killing over 200 Boko Haram terrorists, capturing several prisoners and recovering several of their vehicles.

From an account of a civilian who participated in defending the neighborhoods, as reported in DailyTrust, “Our people also recovered over 70 motorcycles that the attackers came with. They also collected 2 Hilux vehicles and an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) while some of the attackers were captured alive.” [Daily Trust]

This amazing victory of good over evil, promises a new direction in the war against terror that has wrecked hundreds of farming villages in the north of Nigeria in the last four years, largely unchecked by State security. Civilians determined to arrest a situation they believe the Nigerian security services has permitted to destroy their farming villages in various towns in the north east, have apparently decided take up a fighting posture against Boko Haram terrorists; no longer waiting for a military response that hardly ever comes.

Last week, Boko Haram terrorists ravaged Gondura Ngala town, freely without any hindrance from the Nigerian military drafted to the north, and decimated the entire town, killing over 300 residents. On April 14th, Boko Haram stormed Chibok and abducted over 200 girls. In that episode, Amnesty International reported that the Nigerian security services were fully informed of the impending attack, by civilian vigilantes and other Intel, several hours prior, yet did not alert or defend the village nor engage the terrorists for a full eight hours of the abduction, looting and destruction of the village.
A mother from Chibok reportedly told CNN, that “if the army is not ready to fight Boko Haram, then we will fight them ourselves.” Apparently that day has come.

The Civilian-JTF and ENDS.ng civil rights group is pressing the Nigerian government for the civilians to have the right and government support, to bear arms, to end the terror scourge once and for all. The government is yet to officially respond to this urgent request as villagers remain at the mercy of Boko Haram terrorists.

The Shehu of Bama is reported to have ordered his citizens to go get guns, after his town was completely decimated twice by Boko Haram terrorists with no military response for the full eight hours of carnage. More towns are expected to follow suit as the nations leadership sleeps and permits terrorists the largely unhindered freedom to operate, massacre and destroy Nigeria’s farmers and northern farming village

Man, 51, Arrested With 3.870kg Drug at MMIA

Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested Osun state born 51 year old Odeyemi Ademola Ayodeji for being in possession of 3.870kg of suspected Methamphetamine worth over N2.4 million.

Odeyemi, who hid the illegal substance inside a white transparent polythene inside his luggage containing soup ingredients(crayfish, melon) was arrested during the outward screening of passengers on a Kenyan Airways flight at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport.

When he was arrested, Odeyemi said he was neck deep in debt which forced him to venture into this illegal business and said that he had tried it before
"I am owing people. I couldn’t sleep because of debts. I have two wives. But the first one left to live with her parents because of  my condition. I would have made a profit of $15,000 (N2.4 million) had I succeeded in selling the drug in Nairobi. I intended paying my debts and start a business with the money realized.” he said
Describing the illegal drug, NDLEA  Airport Commander, Hamza Umar said
Methamphetamine often called ice or meth is a crystal-like powdered substance that sometimes comes in large rock-like chunks. It is odourless, bitter and dissolves easily in water or alcohol.

Senator John McCain Disrespects President Goodluck Jonathan

In a new interview with The Daily Beast, Senator John McCain grossly disrespected President Jonathan when he said American forces should #BringBackOurGirls—even if the Nigerian government says no.

According to him, if he were the American president, he would already be doing several things to respond to the kidnapping of the over 200 girls by the Nigerian terrorist group that the Obama administration has so far declined to do.
McCain told The Daily Beast Tuesday:

Quote
“If they knew where they were, I certainly would send in U.S. troops to rescue them, in a New York minute I would, without permission of the host country. I wouldn’t be waiting for some kind of permission from some guy named Goodluck Jonathan,” he added, referring to the president of Nigeria.

McCain said those measures include prepositioning U.S. special forces to be ready to enter Nigeria and rescue the girls if the opportunity arose.

Quote
He said that the United Nations charter authorized military intervention on behalf of the girls because their abduction rose to the level of “crimes against humanity.”

“The United Nations Charter recognized crimes against humanity, this fits into the category of crimes against humanity, and that gives any nation the license if they can to stop a crime against humanity, the same reason we should have if we could have freed the people at Dachau or Auschwitz,” McCain said.

Fake Soldier! Woman's New Boyfriend Exposes Her As A Fake Soldier

The 323 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Akure, Ondo State, has arrested a woman, Angela Omieh, for posing as a soldier.

Sets of military uniform, police extract and a sworn affidavit for loss of her military identity card were said to have been found with her.

The Public Relations Officer of the brigade, Captain Ademola Adegoke, said Omieh was arrested following a report by her boyfriend.

According to him, Omieh, who resides in Mile 3, Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was discovered to be in possession of two pairs of camouflage, camouflage T-shirt and short, one pair of desert boot, one jungle hat and three handsets.

He said the suspect had been parading herself as a soldier attached to the 149 Battalion, but deployed to Joint Task Force, Warri for duty.

Adegoke explained that the suspect’s boyfriend, Mr. Collins Jegede, narrated how she met Omieh on a social network where she appeared in military outfit.

Jegede said he wooed her and she paid him a visit in January 2014 in full military uniform.

Jegede was also said to have reciprocated the visit, but was surprised that Onieh lodged him in a hotel at the Ijaiye area of Lagos State instead of 149 Battalion, Ojo Military Barracks, where she had claimed to be working.

Adegoke said, “Jegede reported the case to the officer-in-charge of a military checkpoint at Owo following his suspicion that his girlfriend was a fake soldier.”

The suspect admitted that she was fake, adding that it was meant to make ends meet.

She said, “I bought the uniform from Army depot in Zaria. I attended the Nigerian Army depot in Zaria, Kaduna State. I could not continue my education when my father died, so I decided to buy the kits to help me travel to Cotonou, Benin Republic for business with ease.

SSS Arrest Mastermind Of Nyanya Blast, Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche In Sudan

The co-mastermind of the April 14, 2014 bomb that went off in Nyanya, a suburb of Abuja, Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche has been arrested in Sudan, security sources say.

Ogwuche was reportedly arrested through the help of the Military Attaché to the Nigerian High Commission in Sudan with the help of international security operatives.

The suspect is a student of Arabic Language at the International University of Africa, Sudan is a British born Nigerian.

Ogwuche was formerly in the Nigerian Army with service number SVC 95/104 but was said to have deserted the Army in 2006.

The Department of State Services (DSS) on Monday 12, May 2014 during a joint news conference in Abuja declared him and one Rufai Tsiga planned the bombing of Nyanya Motor Park on 14 April which killed over 75 people.

The DSS through its Director of Public Relations of DSS, Marilyn Ogar, announced the declaration.

According to the Department of State Security, Ogwuche served in the Intelligence Unit of the Nigerian Army at Child Avenue, Arakan Barracks, Lagos, between 2001 and 2006. He was allegedly involved in terrorist activities which led to his arrest at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Nov. 12, 2011 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on arrival from the UK. But was however, released on bail to his father, retired Col. Agene Ogwuche on Oct. 15, 2012 following intense pressure from human rights activists, who alleged human rights violation.

Ogar, who announced N25 million rewards for anyone who could give information that could lead to the arrest of the duo, also paraded five suspects in connection with the bombing. Ogar named the suspects as Ahmad Abubakar, 43, Muhammed Ishaq, 30, Yau Saidu, 28, Anas Isah, 22 and Adamu Yusuf, a cleric, 43.

“Rufai Abubakar Tsiga, a Boko Haram leader, is the mastermind of the bombing of April 14, 2014 at El-Rufai Motor Park, Abuja.Tsiga was actively aided by a co-mastermind, Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche.

“The sum of N25 million is hereby announced as reward for anybody with useful information on their whereabouts,” she said.

The director said that on the night of 13 April, Tsiga and one Muhammed Ishaq, one of the arrested suspects, moved a vehicle laden with explosives to the Nyanya Park.

“In the morning of 14 April, Tsiga, under the direction of Ogwuche, moved the explosives laden vehicle to the position from where he detonated the explosives,” she said.

The DSS spokesperson said that the arrested suspects claimed that they bombed the park to retaliate the killing of a Boko Haram member at the park a week before the incident.

She denounced the claim as a fabrication by the mastermind of the bombing to elicit other members used for the bombing.

Ogar urged the public to be wary as terrorist elements were disguising and taking up menial jobs and parading themselves as businessmen daily in Abuja and its environs.

I Know Where the Female Students Are but I Wont Tell Anybody ––Senator Opens Up

Nigeria is at a cross road and that is the explanation for this madness going on. While international community and countries like the USA, France, China, the UK are strategizing on how to rescue the over two hundreds girls kidnapped from their School in Chibok, Borno State, a Nigerian senator representing Borno North, Senator Ahmed Zanna, has said he wont tell anyone where the abducted girls are being kept.
As an insider, he was asked where the girls are, the senator said: “I won’t tell where they are being kept again because I have told the Federal Government where they are likely being kept before the video was released. Now that I saw the video, the vegetation in the clip confirmed what I have told them earlier.
“If they want to know where they are being kept, then the government should remember what I told them before. What I can tell you is that the girls are no longer here in Chibok.”
Senator Zanna made this declaration on Monday on CNN when he was being interviewed by Isha Sesay.

When the lawmaker was asked by the reporter about what he felt about the latest video released on Monday by the Boko Haram terror group showing some of the abducted school girls, the senator said he experienced mixed feelings when he saw the video.

Sen. Zanna opined that while he was happy to know that the kidnapped girls are still alive, he also informed that he felt sad to realise that the teenagers are being used as ransoms by the terrorists in exchange for some of the members captured by the military.

While saying he was privy to information about the movement of the insurgents when the girls were abducted, the Senator said he told security agents that contrary to their belief that the abducted girls were in Sambisa forest with their abductors, that they have since been split and ferried through Lake Chad to neighbouring countries among which he said were Chad, Niger and Cameroon.

Senator Zanna blamed the military for failure to rescue the girls before the development given that they got all the necessary information about the movement of the insurgents from him personally.

Genevieve Nnaji – I will only marry someone who will forgive my adultery

The journey of two people together for better or worse is never easy.

But with complete dedication, love and tolerance for each other, the challenges that may beset the marriage can be overcome.

Genevieve Nnaji is yet to get married and explains what her criteria are for choosing her right partner:

“As for marriage, it’s every woman’s dream to get married. We can’t lie to ourselves. I do want to get married but overtime I have had opportunities to get married but I realize getting married is not actually the problem. The problem is finding someone you are compatible with because I’m born Catholic, I’m raised Catholic, I don’t believe in divorce. If I get married, I really want to stay married and staying married is not an easy thing. It means you are completely in tune with your partner. It means you’ve found your soul mate because you’ll have to be able to stand a lot of disappointments that would definitely come but then again you have to learn to forgive.

For me, before I choose a partner I have to ask myself if this is the kind of person I would be willing to forgive no matter what when the time comes. If the answer is no, then that person is wrong for me. That person is not the person you want to get married to. If you know you can look into someone’s eyes and say yes, this is the most you can do to me. If you actually cheat on me the first time, I can find it in my heart to forgive you. If you can answer that question honestly and truthfully to yourself then you’ll know if that person is your partner or not. So compatibility is the word aside from the physical attributes that have to go with it.

I need to be comfortable because I’m a woman and I’m used to a certain lifestyle.”

Even though the person may say they can forgive even when she cheats, can that be guaranteed? And will that not let some partners go ahead and cheat because they know they can be forgiven?
